Injury update on Callum Doyle and Leicester City ahead of Blackburn as duration of absence is made known

The on-loan defender from Leicester City will likely be sidelined until the new year, although not for the entirety of the Championship season, due to a knee injury.

According to Enzo Maresca, defender Callum Doyle will be out for three to four months with a knee injury for Leicester City.

The on-loan adolescent was taken off the field during the second half of last weekend’s victory against Bristol City, and while Maresca was aware he would be out for some time, additional testing has revealed just how long he will be away, with a diagnosis of 12 to 16 weeks. He won’t go back to his parent club for his therapy; he will remain at City.

Maresca needs to come up with a different plan because he won’t be seen until the new year. James Justin, who played there for the entire game against Liverpool in midweek and for the second half against Bristol City, appears to be the most likely candidate to occupy the left-most position in the back three.

According to Maresca on Doyle, it will last between 12 and 16 weeks. He is the only player, I mentioned in the news conference before Liverpool, who is left-footed. We’ve had bad luck.

We had several wingers, including Wilfred, Cesare, Kiernan, Yunus, Jamie, Kele, Abdul, Macca, Stephy, and Marc, but he was the only one in that position, therefore we were unfortunate. We’ll work to come up with a solution. JJ performed admirably against Liverpool and Bristol City. He might provide a solution.

Dennis Praet and Tom Cannon are the only other players out with back ailments for City ahead of their trip to Blackburn on Sunday, when they will try to pick up the victory that maintains them at the top of the Championship table. Conor Coady is also eligible for selection for City after making his injury comeback in midweek.

Regarding Coady, Maresca noted, “He did a fantastic game.” He performed a game exactly as we had anticipated. We are well familiar with him and what he can offer. We are pleased with his performance.

Additionally, he was playing in his first game in two months. We are pleased to have an additional player that can support us.
