Mark Robins is hoping to head into the international break

Mark Robins wants to leave this weekend’s game against Norwich City on a high note before the international break.

The manager talked about the current losing streak against the Canaries, which he hopes to end when they come to the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The Sky Blues have now won consecutive games in the Championship thanks to a late goal from Haji Wright against Blackburn Rovers.

In his pregame remarks, Robins discussed playing Norwich and gave an update on his physical condition.

competing with Norwich

“We haven’t done very well against Norwich by any means; in fact, we’ve played poorly against them.

We drew 1-1 at Carrow Road in COVID when there were no spectators, so I believe we have only picked up one point.

Without a question, this is an opportunity, and they see it that way as well. Can we perform better against them than we have in recent games or recent seasons?

What Norwich can be expected to do

They have dropped four of their previous four away games, including one at Fulham, and I suppose that makes them disappointed. Nevertheless, they are a strong team with many talented players.

“There is no denying that a few things have changed; Teemu Pukki has left, and they have sustained some injuries. You have to make an effort to deal with Josh Sargent’s injury and the fact that they are missing a number of really talented players in addition to everyone else.

“Grant Hanley is another one, but they’ve added seasoned players who are familiar with life outside of the league, have experience playing at a higher level, and they have some real talent back in the squad.”

“We really need to play at the top of our game to have any chance of winning, and even then, it might not be enough. My only worry is that we always have enough energy on the field.”

Building on consecutive victories…

We all work for the same division. We are all attempting to accomplish the same goal, which is to build on and continue from last season’s nearly unbelievable accomplishment.

“We simply need to prepare for that once again, and as I said, we’re looking forward to the game. There is no disputing that.

“It’s one of those things where if we can do better, we just have to build on the performances that we’ve had, but if we can do better against them than we’ve done in the previous games that we played then that’s a positive anyway,” said the player.

Haji Wright is feeling confident after scoring on Wednesday.

“Goals often go in on instinct for strikers since they always have a tendency to play with confidence. It was a little bit more than instinct, as you saw see with Ellis against QPR on Saturday and with Haji the other night.

“He was in the ideal location. Yasin had to generate the force and timing himself because his shot sort of deflected off the goalkeeper and up into the air.

“You can’t undervalue the technique; it’s all muscle memory, and we’ve got to keep in mind that he’s incredibly good in the air.

“It will definitely give him a boost. That was evident from his joy at the conclusion, and the late goal was crucial for us.

playing three games in a row and showing consideration for away fans…

“It’s incredibly difficult. If we take Norwich as an example, they have just returned from Swansea and will be arriving back in Norwich a few days later, making it challenging for them to.

“We experienced it at the beginning of the month while traveling to Hull and then Cardiff. We are aware of how challenging that might be, but the fans must continue to go and travel.

I have the utmost regard for the fans that support clubs around the nation. You want to offer them something to sing about that is positive because it’s challenging and requires a significant commitment, so it’s wonderful that we are followed in such large numbers and that they come and sing their hearts out.

A report on Liam Kelly

“Well, he thinks it’s not a big deal. We are merely treating those symptoms and monitoring the situation, but I believe we will learn a little more over the next few days.

Next week, he will be there. It will be continuously evaluated to determine when he is prepared to begin building it back up. But I believe that initially, he is content that nothing important has happened.

The future of Fabio Tavares…

“All he needs to do now is get fit. He still has tasks to complete and targets to hit.

“As you can see, he is sprinting on the grass, but he still needs to complete that. He is therefore still at a distance, but it is certain that he is jogging on the grass.

The next step for Callum is training the following week, where he’ll be doing some more work. He’ll work hard, then take a break, work hard, then take a break, and then return to training the following week with Bristol City, where he could be close to playing.

However, as I previously stated, I don’t set deadlines for anyone of that nature since I believe it would be unjust.
