Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison has issued a response to a Chelsea fan who mocked him on Instagram today.

It comes after Spurs fell to a 4-1 defeat against Chelsea on Monday night and suffered their first loss of the Premier League season.

Tottenham played the majority of the London derby with fewer players than Chelsea following Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie both picking up red cards.

Ange Postecoglou’s men put up a resilient display but were eventually undone by a quickfire Nicolas Jackson hat-trick in the final 15 minutes of the game.

James Maddison’s night was ended early after the midfielder was forced off through injury at the end of the first half.

But it hasn’t prevented the 26-year-old from getting involved in a back-and-forth with Chelsea legend John Terry.

After Terry posted a video of himself celebrating the win on Monday evening, Maddison hit back at the legendary defender.

The Spurs star wrote: “Jesus, you have your eyes closed when it was 11 v 11 first 15 JT?”

Terry then told Maddison that he ‘will get used to it’ and the duo’s conversation was posted on SportBible’s Instagram account.

This prompted a Chelsea fan to mock Maddison for arguing that his team were on top for the first 15 minutes. And the Spurs star didn’t hesitate to issue a response.

In response to the fan’s comment, Maddison wrote: “Pipe down gym king.”

Terry also commented on the post and once again stated that Maddison will get used to losing to Chelsea as a Spurs player.

Maddison has regularly displayed that he’s not afraid to speak his mind to the media and on his social media accounts.

Spurs fans will certainly love Maddison’s replies to both Terry and the Chelsea fan on Instagram.

The former Leicester City star has made a huge impact in North London after making the switch from the Midlands over the summer.

He’s quickly becoming a fan-favourite at Spurs and him sticking up for his side on social media will only strengthen that feeling among the Tottenham faithful.
