Jamie Carragher now predicts what the score will be when Tottenham take on Liverpool on Saturday
Jamie Carragher has now given his prediction for Saturday afternoon’s late match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking on the An Echo To Glory podcast, Carragher gave an overview of Saturday’s clash.
Ange Postecoglou and Jurgen Klopp will try hard to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
Liverpool’s good start went somewhat unnoticed as the opening day draw against Chelsea was the only match in which they dropped points.
Given the chances they had in that game and how poorly Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been since then, they may feel they should be drawn with Manchester City at the top of the table. Tottenham also dropped points on the opening day but then won four matches in a row before drawing with Arsenal.
Spurs were widely applauded for their debut under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou, who made the team play very well.
Jamie Carragher has now given his prediction on how Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham will go.
He certainly expected it to be an interesting affair!
Carragher predicts Tottenham vs Liverpool
When asked to make a prediction about the outcome of this weekend’s match, Carragher said:
“I will increase the score to 2-2, there will definitely be a goal.
“I don’t see any team keeping a clean sheet. I think Liverpool have too much firepower not to score at least one goal. “And I still think when you look at the West Ham game last weekend, we still wasted a few chances.”
As Carragher suggests, both Tottenham and Liverpool are expected to score this weekend.
Spurs were arranged by Postecoglou to play offensively.
Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro either drifted into midfield or overlapped with their wingers to overload the opposition defence.
Although Micky Van de Ven’s recovery speed was impressive, it left Spurs behind.
This is exactly what you don’t want to do against a Liverpool team capable of turning defense into attack in just a few passes.
If Trent Alexander-Arnold is available, he will take advantage of the space left by Tottenham’s full-backs.
This promises to be an exciting match between the two most attractive teams in the tournament.
