Jonjo Shelvey has left Nottingham Forest.

Only eight months after departing from Newcastle United, the midfielder moving to Turkey.

Forest revealing (see below) Jonjo Shelvey has agreed a season-long loan with Çaykur ROfficial Nottingham Forest announcement for September 14, 202:

Jonjo Shelvey has completed a one-season loan to aykur Rizespor of the Turkish Super Lig.

Since moving to Forest from Newcastle United in January, the midfielder has made eight appearances for the team.

The 31-year-old is now on loan at Rizespor in Turkey, which is currently ranked fifth in the Turkish Super Lig after last season’s promotion from the second tier.

Now, Jonjo Shelvey is reportedly close to signing Turkish club Rizespor, according to The Telegraph’s John Percy, who is typically highly trustworthy.

The 25-man Forest Premier League squad that was announced today did not include the former Newcastle United midfielder.

‘Jonjo Shelvey is about to leave for a season-long loan to a Super Lig club, ending his seven-month stint with Forest.

The 31-year-old did have offers to stay in England, with Burnley, Sheffield United and Leeds all registering interest last month, but the midfielder is opting for a fresh start in the ambitious Turkish League.’
