The Minnesota Vikings‘ winning streak came to an end on Sunday Night Football, as the Denver Broncos took them down in a close game.

Josh Dobbs’ first two games with the Vikings provided incredible highlights, but he fell short in this one despite a valiant effort.

According to Payton via reporter Peter Gabriel: “I haven’t seen anything like it, really.”

The Vikings are Dobbs’ fourth NFL team in the past 12 months.

He was a member of the Tennessee Titans in January of 2023, then bounced around from the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals before landing in Minnesota.

His road hasn’t been easy, but as Payton points out, he has found success on two teams this season.

Dobbs has taken over for Kirk Cousins in Minnesota, winning over the hearts of the fanbase, along with countless other fans.

He is the definition of an underdog story, someone that most people want to see succeed.

Dobbs’ loss to the Broncos might have been a bump in the road, but he doesn’t appear to be shaken.

He should have Justin Jefferson back in the offense soon, which should help his cause moving forward.

The Vikings have rallied around Dobbs, believing in him and his ability to lead this offense.

Can they keep this up, resulting in an unlikely playoff berth without Cousins at the helm?
