David Seaman says he loves the way Ange Postecoglou keeps his calm on the sidelines rather than letting his emotions get the better of him.

Postecoglou seems to be the opposite of Antonio Conte when it comes to playing style, man-management and communication with the media.

Another big difference between the Australian and his predecessor is the way they operate on the sideline. Conte was often seen kicking and screaming every ball and constantly shouting instructions at his players throughout the 90 minutes.

In contrast, Postecoglou remained calm even when Tottenham scored or conceded and barely uttered a word other than occasionally encouraging his players to play from the back and applauding their efforts.

Postecoglou is calmness personified at Tottenham

Seamen pointed out how different Mikel Arteta was on the other dugout on Sunday compared to Postecoglu, and suggested that the 58-year-old is exactly the sort of calm character that Spurs need.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper said on the Seaman podcast:

“I love watching Ange on the touchline, he’s great to watch. The contrast between him and Arteta on the sidelines is incredible.

“With Mikel, he was jumping up and down like Jack in the box and Ange was just standing there with his hands in his pockets watching. I like what he is doing with Tottenham and if he can exploit that Spursyness side of them, who knows what they could achieve.

Given that Ange’s main message to his players is about not panicking and playing without fear even when they make mistakes, it would be completely counter-productive if he is shouting and screaming at them and is a nervous mess on the touchline.
