As a former Seahawks and 49ers cornerback, Richard Sherman found himself facing scrutiny this week after voicing his support for San Francisco ahead of Week 15.   The criticism came after Sherman’s loyalties were called into question following his backing of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy as the 2023 MVP on Thursday Night Football. In response to the critics, Sherman took to social media on Saturday to fire back with a message reminding fans that, while he cherishes helping to bring Seattle its only Super Bowl in 2014, he still supports each of his former organizations.

“I will support the teams I played for,” Sherman wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “You need to remember we brought the city that Championship not vice versa. So I will support both the 49ers and the Seahawks.
