The Alabama football program celebrated a successful National Early Signing Date on Wednesday, penning 23 prospects into the Class of 2024.

Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban spent his Wednesday press conference praising the quality of the class but was also clear about potentially adding more as the cycle continues.

Alabama has two prospects in the class that are committed but plan on signing in the February signing date in 5-star receiver Ryan Williams and 3-star linebacker Quinton Reese. Who else can the Tide add before officially shifting its focus to the Class of 2025?

Tide’s Top Remaining Prospects for 2024

Zay Mincey is a 4-star defensive back out of Daytona Beach, Fla. He’s considered the No. 4 safety in the class but many see him as someone who could wind up at corner. Standing at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, he actually signed his letter of intent on Thursday. Mincey will announce if he signed with Alabama, Miami, Florida, or Florida State on January 6 at the All-American Bowl.

Daniel Hill is a 4-star running back out of Meridian, Miss., that we’ve followed extensively in this cycle. Hill, like Mincey, signed his paperwork already and will also announce his decision at the All-American Bowl. Did he sign with Alabama, Mississippi State or South Carolina?

Tristan Jernigan is a 4-star linebacker out of Tupelo, Miss. He’s been committed to Texas A&M since this past May but the coaching change in College Station has shaken things up. He’s signing in February and will choose to either stay with the Aiggies or flip to the Crimson Tide.

Saban made it clear that the Tide would like to keep adding at the offensive line position, but Alabama missed out on top prospect Jordan Seaton and developmental tackle Favour Edwin. Alabama will likely look to the transfer portal to fill any other needs that may arise as the offseason continues and the Class of 2024 is all but wrapped up.

Class of 2025 5-star safety DJ Pickett has narrowed down his list of schools to five. Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Oregon are all finalists for the Florida product. The No. 7 prospect in the class is just getting his recruitment started and plans to visit Tuscaloosa again in January.

Alabama used signing day as an opportunity to get ahead on the Class of 2025, sending custom made graphics to top prospects in the class. Below was specific to 4-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine out of Louisiana. Alabama currently has the No. 2 overall class for 2025 with eight commitments.

Around the Capstone

The Alabama basketball program is looking for a big Friday. 5-star prospect Derrion Reid is making his college decision at 2 p.m. CT and the Tide feels good about its positioning for the forward. It’s the second time Reid’s had a decision date set and the other contenders for his services are Georgia and Florida State.

Alabama announced the addition of Melina Rebimbas to its soccer team. Rebimbas is a transfer from North Carolina and a starter on the US U17 World Cup team.
