The Kansas City Chiefs are jockeying to finish with the best record in the AFC, as they sit one game behind the conference-leading Baltimore Ravens.

They will face the Buffalo Bills, a struggling team that shouldn’t be taken lightly, this weekend at home, which will mean containing quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Kansas City is expecting to get some help on defense, as Matt Verderame reports that they plan on activating linebacker Nick Bolton after he missed their last five games with a wrist injury.

Bolton has been riddled by injuries this season, as he has appeared in just four games so far, but he was an important part of the Chiefs’ defense last season when they won their second Super Bowl in four years.

In 2022, he led the team with 180 tackles (108 solo) while also recording nine tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, and two interceptions.

This year, unlike in past years, the Chiefs haven’t had a reliable playmaker on offense other than star tight end Travis Kelce, and therefore they have relied on defense more than they ever have.

They currently rank fourth in total yards allowed and third in points given up.

While Allen has thrown 13 interceptions this year, he’s still among the NFL’s leaders in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and pass completion percentage, while Diggs is fourth in receiving touchdowns with eight.

The Bills are fighting to get into the playoff picture in the AFC, and therefore this shouldn’t be assumed to be an easy game for Patrick Mahomes and company.
