Tennessee has been looking to bring in another Lipscomb Academy athlete. They had one on campus for the Tennessee vs. Georgia game. CJ Jimcoily is a 2025 defensive back prospect from Lipscomb Academy and is currently teammates with Volunteer commits Edwin Spillman and Kaleb Beasley. Jimcoily measures in at around 6’3- and 200 pounds and holds plenty of offers, including Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, and more. He took the time to detail his visit to watch the Volunteers take on the Bulldogs with Volunteer Country. He opened the conversation by saying, “My visit overall was reaffirming even in defeat. The energy and the vibe were beyond any other game I’d been down for, and the same personalized care by the staff was present. From arriving and witnessing the vol walk all the way through kickoff, I felt very welcome, and for moments, I could visualize myself stepping out dressed in the smooth orange and white. Definitely, a successful visit, maintaining UT within my top list!” He then followed up after being asked if he spoke to any coaches by responding, “Yes, I had an opportunity to speak with coach Banks as well as coach Heupel. This ties into the feeling of welcome as they embraced me almost as if I were a member of the team already and expressed their interest in me openly.” Every recruit has their own opinion on the Tennessee atmosphere, and Jimcoily definitely had a strong one. He goes on to say,

“The atmosphere was legitimately tangible. You could feel the energy and passion from the fans, as well as an aura of competitive edge from the players. The stadium UT bolsters has always impressed me with its sheer volume, and the addition of culture gives it a nice feel. A side note: Singing Rocky Top in that stadium is an unreal feeling and definitely the pinnacle of atmosphere.” He did mention that he got to speak with some commits as well, saying, “I got to speak with a couple of commits, some of whom I know personally, like Kaleb Beasley and Edwin Spillman, who I attend Lipscomb with. I also spoke with others I know fairly well, such as Boo Carter and Marcus Goree. They gave the usual pitch, but it definitely counts for something hearing from guys I know who have bought into the program.” Finally, he closes the conversation by saying, “I’m reaching the point of beginning to narrow down my top schools.

That’s coming sooner than later if nothing spontaneous appears. I’ve got a couple more schools that haven’t offered but are beginning to show interest in me that I will also consider. Tennessee, though, is among the schools that will be in my final list. Oklahoma, UNC, LSU, and Michigan are also on that list right now. However, things are subject to change.” 2025 4-star DB CJ Jimcoily during an unofficial visit to North Carolina.
