Tennessee got their first transfer portal addition on Friday evening in former Notre Dame tight end Holden Staes. Staes has two seasons of eligibility left, and he caught 15 catches for 176 yards and four touchdowns. He was the No. 1 tight end available in the transfer portal and is a big addition to the Tennessee tight end room

for Tennessee football. The Vols have concluded the regular season and are now focusing on roster construction for the 2023 season. Volunteer Country has fans covered with all the latest portal entries and NFL Draft declarations. The portal window is from December 4 until January 2. If players don’t transfer within that window, they must wait until May following spring practice to enter the transfer portal.

Former Tennessee defensive back Doneiko Slaughter has committed to transfer to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Slaughter, 6-0, 190, is a Roswell (Ga.) native who can play cornerback, safety, or nickel with his final year of eligibility, “I love the defense here,” Slaughter said. ”The defensive staff, they’re not new. They know how to develop guys. I have a good connection here with the coaches, that’s for real. That’s a big thing for me going into my last season. I’ve got to make the most of it. The coaches will be developing me throughout the whole process.”

Slaughter played in ten games for the Vols this season, recording 32 tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss before announcing his decision to transfer on December 10. While his visit may have been shorter than the usual 48-hour stay, it was more than enough for Slaughter to feel comfortable in Fayetteville and playing for head coach Sam Pittman.
