Going into the 2023–24 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers had one of the strongest and most skilled squads.

In addition to adding dependable role players to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with, the Lakers were successful in re-signing their core free agents.

The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the most accomplished and talented teams heading into the 2023-24 NBA season.

The Lakers have been trying to re-sign their top free agents and add some quality players to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Los Angeles has legitimate title aspirations, but any hope of them winning it all depends on James still playing as good as ever.

James has successfully challenged Father Time for many years now, and despite turning 21, he is set to lead the Lakers once again.

At this point in his career, James has nothing to prove and will go on to become one of the best players to ever step foot on the pitch. However, former players like John Starks believe he damaged his legacy by changing teams through Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

“LeBron has damaged his legacy so much by changing NBA teams that it will affect his standing in the LeBron-Jordan debates,” the Starks said. “Mike doesn’t move. He wants to play against the best. He feels he doesn’t have to chase the players who join his team to beat the best because he feels like he’s the best, and I think that’s the difference.

To Starks’ point, James is primarily recognised with igniting the player empowerment movement. He has also done what he felt was essential to increase his number of championship wins.

But whatever Starks thinks, James’ legacy is secure no matter what occurs after this.
