The Los Angeles Chargers are set to be the first NFL team to interview Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh during this year’s coaching carousel.

Harbaugh recently led the Wolverines to a victory in the College Football Playoff National Championship after dealing with a tumultuous season and being suspended on two separate occasions.

He has also been linked to the head coach openings with the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders openings.

Harbaugh was also linked with the Chicago Bears, but those rumors have quieted down after the team elected to keep current head coach Matt Eberflus.

Following the National Championship victory Harbaugh elected not to answer questions about his future when asked by reporters.

Harbaugh is also staring at the potential of being hit with another NCAA charge after allegedly misleading investigators during a probe into possible recruiting violations by the Wolverines, which could seemingly make this the perfect time for him to ride off into the sunset at his alma mater and return to the NFL for some unfinished business.

He previously led of the San Francisco 49ers from the 2011-2014 seasons and came within shouting distance of Super Bowl glory on numerous occasions.

In 2013, he lost the Super Bowl to the Baltimore Ravens, coached by his brother John and in 2011 and 2013 lost in the playoffs to the eventual Super Bowl winners in New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks.

Harbaugh’s championship winning quarterback J.J. McCarthy has already decided he is NFL bound and declared for the draft along with school-record setting running back Blake Corum.
