Super Eagles and Leicester City duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi’s goals were included in the Goal of the Month award nomination.

Super Eagles duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month award after both players scored stunning goals in August, Soccernet.ng reports.

Leicester have played five matches in the Sky Bet Championship so far, winning four and losing just one, leaving them third in the Championship with twelve points, behind only Ipswich Town and Preston North End.

Eight goals have been nominated for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month award for August 2023, with first team and youth team goals included in the nominations.

Wilfred Ndidi’s goal against Burton Albion in the first round of the Carabao Cup was nominated. The goal was created by compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho as he accelerated the ball down the left wing before delivering a low cross towards Ndidi, who fired into the top corner.

Iheanacho’s opener Burton Albion was also nominated, with Ndidi involved in the build-up. Some neat play in the midfield saw Marc Albrighton on the edge of the box, and he crossed the ball to Iheanacho, whose silky backheel left the goalkeeper stranded. He also got the Man of the Match award in that game

Other nominees for the Goal of the Month award are; Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (vs. Coventry City), Stephy Mavididi (vs. Huddersfield Town), Amani Richards (vs. Derby County U21s), Zach Booth (vs. Derby U21s), Wanya Marçal (vs. Cardiff City) and Kasey McAteer (vs. Rotherham United).

Iheanacho and Ndidi have been in superb form, following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier league top flight. The duo were linked with an exit from the King Power Stadium, but the transfer window closed and the Nigerians remained at the club.
