Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of Kyle Walker-Peters might have just got a lot harder after Southampton secured promotion to the Premier League with a win over Leeds United in the playoff final.

 

It has been well documented that Ange Postecoglou wants to bolster his options at full-back and over recent weeks, it has been suggested that Walker-Peters is one of the names on the North London club’s wishlist

 

It was talkSPORT who first revealed earlier this month that the Lilywhites are looking into the prospect of re-signing their academy graduate.

 

The outlet claimed that the 27-year-old fits the profile of attack-minded full-back that Postecoglou wants to add to his squad and Southampton would be forced to sell him if they do not win promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

 

Last week, GiveMeSport claimed that the fact that Walker-Peters is homegrown makes him a tempting option for Spurs while the Tottenham head coach also likes the fact that the England international can operate at left-back as well as at right-back.

If Spurs were eyeing a cut-price deal to sign the young defender, they might now have to reassess as Southampton have bounced straight back up following their relegation from the Premier League last year.
