Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go after Galatasaray defenders Victor Nelsson and Sacha Boey, according to Turkish reports.

Nelsson has already been named as a target for Tottenham as they look to add another central defender next year, while Boey appears to be a new link previously linked with a move to their north London rivals Arsenal in the summer.

The update comes from Fotospor, who claim that up to four Tottenham officials will monitor the performances of Nelsson and Boey alongside Galatasaray when they face Bayern Munich in the Champions League after the international break in October. Boey is a right back, so Tottenham could add two new defenders with different profiles to their squad by buying both him and Nelsson. According to the report, they could make “serious” offers for the pair once they are convinced they are the right recruits. The 24-year-old Nelsson, who represents Denmark internationally, has a contract with Galatasaray until 2026. French defender Boey, meanwhile, is tied to the Istanbul outfit until 2025. Boey, 23, was a starter in Galatasaray’s recent game. A shock Champions League win against Manchester United, with Nelsson later coming on as a substitute, joining ex-Tottenham man Davinson Sanchez at the back. As well as Sanchez, Spurs also sent Tanguy Ndombe to Galatasaray this summer, but if their interest in Nelsson and Boey materialise, they could end up snapping up the two players from the Super League champions.

The Fotospor report also suggests that Tottenham may be interested in Kerem Akturkoglu, the attacking midfielder who also started for Galatasaray against Man Utd. Wolves battle Tottenham for Boey

At the same time, scouts from several other clubs are also planning to come to the same match as Tottenham representatives. One particular threat could be Wolves, who are said to be rivaling Spurs with their interest in Boey.

It’s not clear what the asking price might be for Boey or Nelson. All should become clear when the next transfer window opens, whether these are really specific targets for Tottenham or, in Boey’s case, for Wolves.

With Ange Postecoglou at centre-back, Spurs’ formula so far has been to combine Cristian Romero with summer signing Micky van de Ve. Ashley Phillips and Eric Dier are backups, but the latter could leave in 2024 and be replaced by someone the coach deems most reliable.

Meanwhile, on the right, Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal are their main options after releasing Matt Doherty in January and signing Djed Spence on loan in the summer, this time to Leeds United.
