Sam Haley was one of Tennessee’s many visitors for the Georgia game a few weeks ago. Haley is an instate linebacker from Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee.
He measures in at around 6-3 and 210 pounds and is a 2025 prospect. He is teammates with multiple Volunteer targets, including 2024 defensive back prospect Jaren Sensabaughand 2025 defensive line prospect Ethan Utley. He holds offers from many talented schools, including Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and many more. He took the time to speak with Volunteer Country and give details on his game day visit. “It was a good experience, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere;
after the first touchdown, I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a stadium that loud in my life. I couldn’t hear myself cheering. But overall, I had a great visit and can’t wait to be back,” the 2025 Ensworth prospect stated. He also spoke really highly of the Tennessee atmosphere by saying, “I’d say that after the first touchdown, it was so loud that my friends and I couldn’t hear each other cheering; the entire stadium literally shook.
The fans are so loyal, which always makes the atmosphere electric. When Sam Haley was speaking on the uniqueness of Tennessee, he went into detail by stating, “I’d say the thing that was the most unique was the culture. The culture at Tennessee is family. Everyone on the team was bought in, and they played for each other. I loved the coaches and how they treated me and my dad. Tennessee has a great support team as well. Another thing I would say that’s unique is the schedule. They talked a lot about how their weekly schedule is different from most.” Being an in-state guy, as mentioned, Haley was asked if that played a big factor in his recruitment.
For many people, it usually does, and in this case, Haley responded in a similar way by saying, “I’d say that It definitely plays a factor for me; I really love how close Tennessee is!” He also said he was getting recruited by some of the Tennessee commits. He went into the details even by naming off a fellow Nashville high school athlete. “Yeah, I talked to Jackson Matthews and a few others, and they just talked about why they committed and why I should. But it was cool to see their perspective and not just the coaches’ perspective.” The recruiting process is still young for Haley; however, it’s important to note this visit moving forward as the Vols got him involved in the biggest matchup of the year for them. It looks likely that Haley will be considering the Volunteers heavily moving forward.
