West Ham United are said to have failed in their bid to buy Jean-Clair Todibo as their €35m offer was lower than OGC Nice’s asking price.

According to L’Equipe, West Ham Unite received a bid of 35 million euros rejected by OGC Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo.

The Hammers are keen to sign a top-class centre-back in this transfer window and their bid is lower than the French club’s offer for the 24-year-old Ligue 1 star.

West Ham are actively looking for a new class defender in this transfer window and have tried their hand at a number of targets so far.

Jean-Clair Todibo becomes the latest on their list, as Hammes failed in their bid to sign the 24-year-old Ligue 1 star.

West Ham are said to have had their bid rejected by OGC Nice price of 35 million euros because this number is lower than the asking price for the French player.

Todibo appears interested in a new challenge and may prefer a move to Manchester United, but only because UEFA regulations prevent a potential transfer.

Manchester United are exploring legal avenues to reach a deal, but it may not come to fruition.

So West Ham may think they have a chance, although any desire by the player to join the Hammers will play a big part in that pursuit.

Aston Villa also really wants to win the Champions League next season, something the Hammers cannot do.

So it will take a huge effort as well as effort from West Ham to convince Todibo to move to the London Stadium, and a clear sign of this could come in the form of an improved effort to control investigate Nice’s resolve.

West Ham pursues midfielder Rejected early on by Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno, West Ham quickly switched to another target.

They have since seen an offer rejected by Wolves for Max Kilman, as the Hammers prepare to submit a fresh offer for the centre-back.

Fenerbahce’s Jayden Oosterwolde is also a target, and the Hammers could have to spend between 25 million and 30 million euros to sign the Dutch defender.

Julen Lopetegui remains determined to prioritize a centre-back, and it remains to be seen whether it will be Todibo.
