The Denver Nuggets have officially advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs, thanks to their 4-1 series win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

They’ll face off against the surging Minnesota Timberwolves in round two, a team that’s coming off a sweep of the Phoenix Suns.

This series is highly anticipated, a true test for both teams given the defensive prowess of both.

Nikola Jokic and Anthony Edwards are slated to be the two most impactful players of the series, but both teams have supporting players who are slated to have big roles in this contest.

Jamal Murray was a big reason for the Nuggets’ success over the Lakers, demonstrated by his 32-point performance in the final game of the series.

While Murray provided heroics throughout the series, he hasn’t convinced everyone.

Chris Broussard talked about his opinion of Murray in a recent segment of “First Things First.”

“I don’t feel like Jamal Murray is a superstar. But, if the Nuggets win a championship this year, he’s a Hall of Famer,” Broussard said.

Broussard doesn’t necessarily think Murray has done enough to reach “superstar” status in his book, but if he has two NBA titles, he’ll eventually make it to the Hall of Fame.

Murray has been a great No. 2 to Jokic during the Nuggets run over the past several years, a player this team can rely on to score when needed.

How far will he and Jokic be able to carry the team this year, knowing they are hoping to win their second NBA Finals ring in as many seasons?
