West Indies cricket icon, also known as the universal boss Chris Gayle, was seen celebrating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) win at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 triumph in his unique style.
KKR was unstoppable in IPL 2024 as they won their third title beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 26, 2024.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side won by eight wickets to secure a dominant win in Chennai. Following the triumph, Gayle, a former KKR batter himself, congratulated the franchise and mentioned his former teammates Sunil Narine and Andre Russell as he danced to the famous song Danza Kuduro.
Shreyas Iyer & Co. secured their third IPL title by defeating SRH by 8 wickets. Chasing a modest target of 114 runs, KKR reached their goal in just 10.3 overs, largely due to a brilliant unbeaten knock of 52 runs off 26 balls by Venkatesh Iyer.
KKR’s bowling unit set the stage for their victory by dismissing SRH for a meager 113 runs in 18.3 overs.
Pat Cummins, the KKR captain, won the toss and elected to field first. Mitchell Starc provided an early breakthrough as he dismissed SRH opener Abhishek Sharma in the first over with an exceptional delivery.
The KKR bowlers maintained pressure throughout the SRH innings, with Andre Russell being the standout performer, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs in his 2.3 overs.
Shreyas Iyer led KKR’s disciplined and effective bowling attack, which never allowed SRH to recover from early setbacks.
