James Maddison and Brennan Johnson both suffered injuries in Tottenham’s draw against Arsenal.

James Maddison is feeling “positive” about his knee injury ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Liverpool this weekend (5:30pm BST).

The Red Devils arrive in the capital aiming for a sixth consecutive win in the Premier League. They sit second in the table but are set to face their toughest test this season against Tottenham. Spurs have made an impressive start since Ange Postecoglou was appointed manager in the summer and have picked up 14 points from six games, putting them two places behind Liverpool.

Maddison has started life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in magnificent form after signing from Leicester City for £40 million in the transfer window, recording two goals and four assists in seven appearances. However, the attacking midfielder fell awarkwardly Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby last Sunday and jolted his knee. He carried on for seven minutes before being substituted.

Certainly, Tottenham will desperately need Maddison’s presence and Football.london reports that the England international is feeling “positive” about his problem.

Additionally, Brennan Johnson came on in the 62nd minute against Arsenal while he was holding his left leg. It has been suggested that the £45m signing from Nottingham Forest has a hamstring strain rather than his problem being more serious. According to football.london, a scan is not necessary and Johnson will be monitored before the end of this week.
