Liam Scales will make his Ireland debut in tonight’s World Cup qualifier with Greece.

Stephen Kenny has made three changes from the defeat to Holland with Scales, Evan Ferguson and Will Smallbone replacing James McClean, John Egan and Adam Idah.

The FAI have said that Smallbone will start behind Evan Ferguson, which suggests that Ireland may be changing their formation for the visit of the Greeks. Chiedozie Ogbene was employed in a front two last month but is a contender for a wide role in this encounter.

A back four with Scales on the left, Matt Doherty on the right and Shane Duffy and Nathan Collins as centre halves is an option with the side Kenny has named.
