Gustavo Poyet says Leeds United made a “perfect” move in signing Daniel Farke this summer and are “firmly” in the promotion race.
The Whites are on a six-match unbeaten streak with four consecutive clean sheets to move into the playoff spots after an initial slow start to the season.
But speaking to Football League World (September 28), current Greek national team coach Poyet believes it was “common sense” to hire the German at Elland Road because of his history in the league against Norwich.

“I always like to look at the reasons for appointing a new manager and when you look at Farke you see he’s won the championship twice so he’s perfect. “It took him a little while to change the mentality of the players but gradually I started to see a Leeds team that would definitely fight for automatic promotion.

“The manager has a proven track record in the league and the players are quite good.
”The Leeds coach’s work is constantly busy throughout the summer and it seems that no one knows in advance who will arrive.
