The Denver Broncos were hoping to rebound this season from a disastrous 5-12 campaign last year, but this year is shaping up to be just about as poor as 2022 was.

They have a 1-5 record and continue to have problems after their 19-8 loss on Thursday to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Some have pointed the finger at quarterback Russell Wilson, who played very poorly last year and was just 13 of 22 while throwing two interceptions versus the Chiefs.

However, former NFL player and current commentator LeSean McCoy said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that the Broncos’ problems are widespread and can’t only be attributed to Wilson.

Statistically, Wilson has played better so far this year — he currently has a 65.9 percent completion rate and has thrown 12 touchdown passes, which is second in the NFL.

However, he has had his share of miscues, and the Broncos’ offense, while not nearly as abysmal as it was last year, is still having problems.

This year, their defense, which was solid in 2022, is an even bigger problem, as they rank last in points and total yards given up.

Because of their struggles, they have been the subject of many trade rumors lately, and some even think they should cut their losses and trade Wilson for as many assets as they can get in return

In March 2022, Denver gave up five draft picks and three rotational players for the former Seattle Seahawk, and it is looking like a very steep price to pay given their massive struggles over the last two years.
