Former Newcastle United transfer target Khephren Thuram is finally on the move after more than a year of speculation.

The French midfielder is finally leaving OGC Nice, after it was reported in May that a move away from the Ligue 1 club was likely.

Despite being longtime fans of Khephren Thuram, Newcastle United showed no interest in the player. He was seen as a potential replacement for Sandro Tonali, who became Newcastle’s second-most expensive acquisition ever when he arrived for £55 million, and was a target for the Magpies last summer. When Eddie Howe was desperately short of midfield options in January, Thuram was also taken into consideration. Newcastle, however, decided against making the transfer because it would be too risky to spend a lot of money on a player from Europe and hope he would make an impact right away.

It was anticipated that Nice would sell the Frenchman before the start of the new campaign; a transaction is now “imminent.” The Frenchman was also a target for Liverpool throughout the summer. Fabrizio Romano claims to have information of Juventus’ incredible bargain to recruit Thuram from the French team on X.
