Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead has been the most active individual at his position in the NFL on the trade market over the past decade or so.

In fact, Los Angeles has not made a first-round pick in the NFL Draft since all the way back in 2016 when it selected Jared Goff No. 1 overall due to the numerous deals Snead has made.

With the Rams in the midst of a somewhat surprising 3-4 start to the season, there has been some thought that they might go back to the well and make a big move ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

Apparently, that’s not going to be the case. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, Los Angeles is expected to be inactive over the next few days.

“In background conversations with team and league sources, I am not getting the sense that the Rams will be very active next week — barring some sort of out-of-the-blue proposition from another team.”

Report on Los Angeles Rams’ NFL trade deadline plans

Of course, things can change. It was ahead of last season’s NFL trade deadline that the Rams offered up two first-round picks and change for Carolina Panthers star EDGE rusher Brian Burns. The defending Super Bowl champions at that time were 3-3 leading up to the deadline. They are only a half game below that mark this time around.

Los Angeles Rams’ NFL trade deadline will be quiet

On the other hand, this iteration of the Rams doesn’t look like a legitimate playoff contender. They dealt away the likes of Jalen Ramsey and Allen Robinson during the offseason, moving on from other core pieces of their championship roster. In fact, Los Angeles’ 3-4 start to the season has been surprising to the masses.

At this point, it seems more likely that the Rams will be sellers if they’re active leading up to Tuesday’s deadline. They are set to take on the Dallas Cowboys this coming weekend. A loss in that game could make the decision a bit easier for Snead.

The likes of left tackle Joe Noteboom, tight end Tyler Higbee and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon could be of interest to other teams. But trading them would be minor in the grand scheme of things.

As for future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be moved in-season despite trade rumors surrounding the defensive tackle in recent months.
