Out of the 32 NFL starting quarterbacks, few face more scrutiny and media attention than the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott. Despite spearheading the Cowboys’ offense for eight seasons, some still question if Prescott is the right man for the job, especially after recording a league-high 15 interceptions in 2022.

Prescott kept critics quiet to kick off the season, but disaster struck in blowout losses against the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. After a three-interception game against the Niners, the criticism has once again ramped up.

According to head coach Mike McCarthy, he’s never seen anything like it.

“In speaking on experience being around great quarterbacks, I’ve never seen a quarterback under a microscope like he is. His consistency, his personality and work ethic and how he handles all that and navigates all that, he goes out and performs every week. I think it is special what he has to endure,” McCarthy said on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio.

McCarthy isn’t the only one to defend his starting quarterback; star linebacker Micah Parsons is tired of it, too.

“I just don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott,” Parsons said on his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”

The linebacker noted that the Eagles and Niners were treated differently and given excuses after Week 6 losses. “We want the same energy for everybody, ‘cause there’s a whole bunch of bashing of Dak Prescott, but it’s not the same when it’s the Eagles.”

Adding fuel to the fire, one Reddit user noticed that on Tuesday’s episode of “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless and company spent a full two hours talking about the Cowboys. The Cowboys were coming off a 20-17 Monday Night Football victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, but two hours of analysis on one team is rare.

A win over the Chargers wraps up the first half of the season for the Cowboys, as they have a Week 7 bye to reset. Returning from the bye week, the Cowboys will face the Los Angeles Rams before going head-to-head with the Eagles the following week.
