A number of Premier League teams are rumored to be interested in signing a “skilled” new forward who might be available on a free transfer, with Everton being one of them.

What are the most recent Everton trade rumors?

Over the summer, Sean Dyche and the Toffees added a number of new players to their roster, the most of them were attackers. Beto and Chermiti arrived permanently along with adaptable fullback Ashley Young, while wingers Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison came to Goodison Park on loans from Villarreal and Leeds United, respectively.
However, the recent transfer window did result in a profit for the club, with Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi’s departures being the two high-profile departures. With only six goals and one victory from the first seven matches in the top flight, though, goals and results have once again been a problem on the field. Due to an update on forward Jota, it appears that focus is already on fresh acquisitions, possibly under probable new owners 777 Partners.

Even though Jota merely joined Al Ittihad from Celtic in the summer, many clubs are keeping an eye on his status with the Saudi Pro League team. Jota’s present employers haven’t registered him to play in the Saudi Pro League, but negotiations are still going on to find a solution, which could include terminating his contract.

With Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou eager for a reunion, the Portuguese forward might become a free transfer if he gets his desire. Although Everton, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and West Ham are also keeping an eye on the situation in addition to Spurs, the player would like Tottenham.

Jota plays where?

Jota is a versatile offensive option for Dyche, providing him with the ability to play on the left or right side or even in a center position at times over his career. You can see why Al Ittihad were pleased to pay a hefty price for his services earlier this year. The 24-year-old, who doesn’t have a weak foot and appears to be in his prime with a career-high worth, according to Transfermarkt, shone for Celtic last season, contributing to 21 league goals in 29 games.

When discussing who should be crowned Player of the Year earlier this year, reporter Dominik Diamond listed the attacker as one of Celtic’s greatest players and called him “ludicrously skilful,” but incoming Portugal manager Roberto Martinez thinks Jota is only growing better and better, saying:

“What I would say is that his evolution has been very impressive. I would say that the last four months especially he is growing into a very mature role at his club. He’s always involved in the big moments, and that’s important.”

In the months leading up to the new year, Jota’s position may be one to keep an eye on. If he does become a free agent, Everton may consider making a bid, although it appears that they would face stiff competition for his services.
