During their bye week, some Minnesota Vikings players are making the most of their time off, as rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison shared Instagram stories with former teammate Caleb Williams at the University of Southern California. Williams, a possible #1 overall pick, showcased his new car acquired through a NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deal.

While the Vikings can’t recruit college quarterbacks directly to the pros, the presence of star receivers like Justin Jefferson and Addison makes it an enticing destination for any young QB. However, if Williams declares for the draft, his projected high selection puts the Vikings out of reach.

Amid discussions of college players earning millions through NIL contracts, especially mentioning Williams potentially making $6-$7 million, there’s speculation about the finite nature of these deals. Williams’ value may peak now, and his future success at USC could impact his marketability.

The mention of Jordan Addison raises questions about his decision to forgo his senior year at USC and enter the NFL draft. Despite a successful rookie season, the potential earnings from NIL at USC might have rivalled or exceeded his NFL rookie contract. Spotrac.com notes Addison’s rookie contract at over $7 million in cash, excluding potential endorsements.

While Addison’s immediate earnings as an NFL rookie are substantial, the speculation revolves around the financial opportunities he might have had with a standout senior season at USC.
