Latest Leicester City news as Wilfred Ndidi says changing position is ‘not easy’ despite his success in the Championship so far this season

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi admitted he had difficulty switching to a more attacking midfielder role.

The 26-year-old assisted Jamie Vardy’s second goal of the game as Leicester claimed a 4-1 victory over Blackburn to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table.

“It was a difficult game at first,” Ndidi told Sky Sports. “We were patient and won the match. Coming here, it was difficult to win but we did it.”

Ndidi has shined in his new No. 8 role this season, but the midfielder admits it has not come easily to him. “Of course, it’s just a process. I’m still getting used to the role, but I’ll keep playing and keep going,” he said.

“It’s not easy coming from a different role, it’s just for me to be with my team. With the help of my teammates, also the gaffer, it’s been brilliant

Ndidi set up Vardy for the second goal of the game with a delightful cross. The midfielder gave his captain the credit for making the assist look better than it was.

“He made it look even better because I saw his run and I just knew he was going to be there,” Ndidi said. “I know his quality, he’s going to hit it once or take a touch, he did the other one.”
