Word from Spurs has put West Ham’s plan to sign Reds star Serhou Guirassy in serious jeopardy as a report makes a worrying claim.

There may be no love lost between West Ham and rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but the two clubs currently have a lot in common.

Both the Hammers and Spurs lost their beloved domestic talismans Declan Rice and Harry Kane in the summer.

Both West Ham and Tottenham have struggled greatly as a result.

But after winning the club’s first trophy in more than four decades, David Moyes is letting West Ham fly after an excellent start to the season on all fronts.

Fierce rivals Hammers and Spurs suddenly have a lot in common

Meanwhile, Spurs look their best for years as new manager Ange Postecoglou becomes an instant life-giving hero for the club.

Much has been made of West Ham and Tottenham’s failure to sign a new striker in the summer.

It certainly hasn’t held back any club so far. But long-serving Moyes and Postecoglou clearly recognize the need for a fresh move forward, if recent reports are anything to go by.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in the past, including in the summer.

Word from Spurs has put West Ham’s plan to sign Reds star Serhou Guirassy in serious jeopardy, with a report making a worrying claim.

We report on Germany’s claims that Guirassy has a £17.5m release clause that runs through next summer.

And reports have suggested Stuttgart must cash in on their star man, who has already scored 11 goals this season, in January if they cannot buy him out of that clause. But West Ham now have a big problem as the Tottenham side look for Kane’s successor.

Word from Spurs has put West Ham’s plans to sign Red Hot Star Guirassy in serious jeopardy as a report makes a worrying claim.

It’s hard to know what to believe when it comes to passing on rumours. But a TeamTalk exclusive claims Spurs are competing with the Hammers for Guirassy and their interest is “genuine”.

‘Genuine’ interest from Tottenham is concern for West Ham but Steidten track record should have Postecoglou worried

“Tottenham interest in top Bundesliga goalscorer is genuine as West Ham lurk amid €20m release clause,” the report states.

“A host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham and West Ham have taken an interest in a Stuttgart striker who is currently outscoring Harry Kane in the Bundesliga…” the report states.

“Interestingly it is understood Tottenham Hotspur are also one of the teams making early explorations around a man who is currently ahead of their old talisman Harry Kane in the German scoring charts.

“Tottenham’s groundwork for replacing Kane in the squad is being carefully considered for the long term but the club will step up the process in 2024.”

West Ham will be hoping they have last 16 Europa League football to offer Guirassy come January.

Moyes may also be able to convince Guirassy he would get more game time at West Ham over Tottenham given that Michail Antonio turns 34 this season.

And with Steidten’s transfer track record, perhaps it should be Spurs who are worried.
