The Green Bay Packers will miss multiple starters against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH — The Green Bay Packers defense takes a massive blow against the Pittsburgh Steelers as they rule out two starters due to injury.

The Packers have officially ruled out star cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder) and inside linebacker Quay Walker (groin). Both came into the weekend listed as doubtful and are officially inactive.

Alexander popped up on the practice report at the beginning of the week and only participated once in a limited capacity. He came into the weekend listed as doubtful and is now officially inactive against the Steelers.

Without Alexander, the Packers will start seventh-round rookie Carrington Valentine. Valentine has started four games this season and has allowed just a 40% completion percentage against opponents.

The rookie was asked earlier in the week about covering Steelers’ star George Pickens and said he expects it to be a good matchup.

“He’s physical, a competitor,” Valentine told reporters. “I’m a physical person. I’m a competitor. So, I feel like it’s gonna be a show.”

The Packers defense will also be without Walker, leaving Eric Wilson to start. The seven-year veteran has played in every game for Green Bay this season, recording 21 tackles.
