Player Speaks About Move to Parkhead: “Perfect Place for Me”: “Monster” Has Now Joined Celtic After Rapid Transfer Progress

When speaking on his loan move to Parkhead, Phillips said to Celtic TV: “Robbo (Andy Robertson) is probably just as excited as I am and I think, potentially, a little bit jealous because he loves it here.

“And the same with Virgil. He had a great time here, so I’ve heard nothing but good things.

“I was extremely eager to get it over the line and I’m glad to be here now. There were couple other possibilities, but they didn’t quite make me feel the same way this one did.

“We have had a few talks (with Brendan Rodgers) since I arrived and it has gone very well.
They just confirmed the decision on all of this and I’m really excited to start working with him.
What can Phillips bring to Celtic?
By signing Phillips, Bhoys has acquired an experienced defender who can play at the highest level for Liverpool and proves himself to be a useful player for Jurgen Klopp.
He was also on loan in the Bundesliga at Stuttgart and AFC Bournemouth and made 17 Premier League appearances for the Reds in the 2020/21 season.
Liverpool are in direct contact about the transfer of Ryan Gravenberch
The 26-year-old is a solid centre-back with decent pace and the ability to impose his physicality on opposing strikers.
A born centre-back, he can also play at right-back if needed and has made five Champions League appearances.
Klopp hailed him as a “monster in the air” a few years ago, and Phillips is likely to become a solid asset under Rodgers at Celtic.
