Ange Postecoglou has reacted to the ever-changing environment at Tottenham Hotspur since his arrival at the club, with one new arrival and one exit this week alone.

Scott Mann officially started work as Tottenham’s new director of football (Charlie Eckleshare) this week. Meanwhile, the Spurs have fired top scout Leonardo Gabbanini (Matt Roe).

A new managing director of football will be Munn’s first task in North London, and Fabio Paratici’s consulting work with the team will probably come to an end.

All of that follows Ange Postecoglou’s appointment as Tottenham’s new head coach this summer as well as a busy transfer period for players.

It truly feels like a new era at Tottenham Hotspur, and Postecoglou was asked at today’s press conference how it feels to be in the midst of major changes at the club.

Postecoglou welcomes changes at Tottenham

Postecoglou said (Football London):

It’s normal for me. I think this is the understanding of the club everywhere I’ve been, but I’ve always said that if you want to change, you have to change.

“All these things don’t happen in sequence or at the same time, but over time they move us in new directions and some people are more likely to participate in this moment or in another. Make your own decision about whether to join.” New people, or the club wants to attract new people.

“That’s the kind of position we’re in as a club. As I said, it wasn’t going to take one window for us to build the squad we wanted and it wasn’t going to take a couple of months to have the structure we wanted.

“It will evolve over the next 12 months, couple of years I think you’ll find, and we will have a constant evolution of people and the way we play, the way we train and the environment itself.

“All these kinds of things are a natural consequence of the club deciding to change direction from last year.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham have needed this kind of overhaul, from top to bottom, for at least three years now. While it is frustrating to only just be at the start of the process now, it is also exciting to see what kind of journey Spurs can go on over the next three to five seasons.
