Preston boss makes ‘harsh’ remark as he sums up Leicester City in two words

Ryan Lowe gives his assessment of Leicester City’s loss to the Foxes at the King Power Stadium in the latest news from LeicestershireLive.

According to Preston manager Ryan Lowe, Leicester City are in a “different class” than the rest of the Championship. And Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has two goals, should be competing in the Premier League, according to Lowe.

On Wednesday night, Dewsbury-Hall motivated the Foxes to a 3-0 victory over Preston at the King Power Stadium, moving Enzo Maresca’s team back to the top of the Championship. After Kelechi Iheanacho had made it 2-0, the City midfielder added their third goal in the final minute of regulation. With nine victories in their first 10 games, the Foxes lead the league by two points.

It is the ideal answer to their recent season’s relegation from the Premier League as they seek an instant return to the top division. Even though Lowe thought his team had been treated unfairly by the score, he concedes that Leicester is the greatest team in the division, referring to them as “a Premier League team in the Championship” and echoing similar remarks made by rival managers.

It was undoubtedly harsh, he declared. “Up until they scored their opening goal, which was frustrating on our part because we went to ground when we definitely might have intercepted it, I thought we were brilliant. Leicester, though, has some talent and is of a different caliber, and we were able to neutralize that early on by slightly surprising them.

“I can’t blame the effort, even though we didn’t have a lot of possession. We were a little bit on our feet later, but that was to be expected. We had the best chances in the first half thanks to Duane’s fantastic opportunity, but they are a Premier League squad playing in the Championship.

Dewsbury-Hall is a player who shouldn’t be competing at this level. However, we had no fear of them. We had respect for them. They are regular people, but they stand out from the competition in some ways.
