In Week 8, the Los Angeles Rams fly south to face the Dallas Cowboys in AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon. If the Rams win the NFC showdown, L.A. will snap the Cowboys’ 10-game home winning streak that dates back to 2022, the longest active streak NFL.

Surprisingly, the Rams are among the best offenses in the league and are currently tied for third place in yards per game (365.1). Quarterback Matthew Stafford has been particularly good, completing 17 big-play passes of 20 yards or more in 2023, which ties him for third place in the NFL. The Dallas secondary has been strong in limiting big plays, allowing the second-fewest in the league with seven big plays.

Los Angeles needs to get ahead early in order to win. In 2023, the Cowboys are 4-0 when leading and 0-2 when behind at the half. Following a week off, Dallas is back to full strength, while the Rams are coming off a 24–17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Rams are within striking distance in the NFC West with much thanks for a breakout season from rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua. Former Triple Crown winner Cooper Kupp is back like he never left. Newly signed running back Darrell Henderson and receiver Tutu Atwell also look to continue their dominance.

Los Angeles’ defense looks to get after Dallas’ scrutinized “Texas Coast Offense” and quarterback Dak Prescott. Watch for receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is close to a few big milestones: He needs six receptions for 300 career receptions and 129 receiving yards on Sunday to reach 4,000 career receiving yards.

“I feel very energized,” McVay said. “I feel very disappointed right now in the moment because there’s always things that you want to do to be able to help these guys do well and have success. You eat yourself up as a coach.”
