Rangers left-back Borna Barisic has been spotted being put through his paces at the club’s La Manga training camp despite being linked with a move to Dinamo Zagreb.

The Croatian international left-back, 31, is out of contract at Ibrox come the end of the season and reports in local outlet Index had suggested the First League champions were interested.

However, in the Ibrox club’s latest training snaps, Borna Barisic can clearly be seen exercising with a rubber band as the speculation continues around his Rangers future.

Interestingly, the defender has also been spotted training by himself but this is likely down to a recent injury which kept Barisic out of the club’s final three Premiership matches before the winter break.

Borna Barisic Rangers future could “change in a day”

One of the club’s most experienced players, Barisic has previously spoken about the speculation surrounding his Rangers future.

Claiming that anything can happen, the Rangers star has had some serious ups and down over his six years in Glasgow and it certainty sounds like his future is yet to be settled.

“In the summer, I enter the last year of my contract. I have a top relationship with everyone at Rangers,” said Barisic, speaking in April.

“If I went to another club, I would choose the one that was just like Rangers. But you never know what could happen, the situation could change in a day.”

Rangers face imminent left-back upheaval

Rangers face some serious upheaval in the left-back position this January with links flying around surrounding both Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz.

Yilmaz has been linked with a move to Serie A Verona whilst Rangers have been linked with several left-backs to potentially replace the Turkish talent in the club’s squad.

Not least this includes young Scottish left-back Josh Doig, who Barisic’s ex-Rangers compatriot Nikola Katic has claimed is nowhere near the level of his old teammate.

Given Barisic is out of contract in the summer it’s given rise to much speculation surrounding the left-back but going by the training snaps he’s going nowhere as things stand.

Meanwhile, one potential long-term Borna Barisic replacement at Rangers has been offered a new contract by his current club in a final roll of the dice.
