Ivan Perisic is the surprise second-highest earner in the current Tottenham Hotspur squad, with Son Heung-min the only player who earns more than the Croatian.
That’s according to a report from The Athletic, which notes that the winger is expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Ivan Perisic is a very interesting signing for Tottenham. It seemed like an incredible move for Spurs to sign the former Inter star, as he followed Antonio Conte to north London.
His record with Tottenham is better than many non-Spurs fans might give him credit for. He only scored one goal in 50 appearances for the club. But he has provided an outstanding 14 assists – most recently in the dramatic win over Sheffield United.

It seems Ange Postecoglou has found the perfect role for Perisic. And indeed the new Tottenham manager seems to have gotten a better performance out of the ‘incredible’ 34-year-old.
This is one of the reasons why his injury move seems so cruel. But of course, Tottenham will also be aware of the cost of losing Perisic to a long-term injury.
The Athletic published an article naming all the highest paid players at every Premier League club. Tottenham fans won’t be shocked to learn that Son Heung-min is leading the charge at Spurs with a salary of £200,000 per week.
But Perisic is said to be a ‘surprise’ name in second place with a salary of £180,000 a week. Perisic’s contract will expire next summer. As things stand, he may have played his last match for the club.
It would be a sad end to his Tottenham career as he had found a good place in the team just before his injury.
