Saudi Arabians continue to have faith that Mohamed Salah, a star player for Liverpool, will eventually play in their league.

Salah has being coveted by Saudi club Al Ittihad this summer. But because Liverpool turned down a verbal offer of up to £150 million, their transfer deadline has past. Mo will occupy an Anfield residence.

The Athletic claims that nobody in the nation has been discouraged from pursuing the Reds forward, despite this.

Salah’s arrival, on the other hand, is allegedly now thought to be inevitable. In Riyadh, it is apparently perceived as a “question of when, not if.”

We’ll wait to hear from Liverpool on that, I suppose.

Salah move feeling inevitable In the face of enormous interest and media pressure, Liverpool stood firm on Salah this summer. But it would be naïve to think that this saga is now over. Initially, an attempt from the Saudis had always felt more likely to come next summer anyway. In that respect, not much has changed. But should we really feel so resigned to losing our star man? This isn’t something new for Liverpool fans. Many will have had the same feeling of inevitability during Luis Suarez’s final season at the club.

Denied a move to Arsenal in 2013, the Uruguayan was still set to leave a year later. After being eliminated, Suarez had one of the best individual seasons the Premier League has ever had, narrowly leading Liverpool to the title.

After giving his all, he left for Barcelona with the reluctant wishes of all those associated with the Red Devils.

But Salah’s story is different. Liverpool are no longer the strong team they were during most of their time at Anfield, but they are still a star-studded team. Mo can shine brighter than anyone sometimes – he’s “incredible” – but he doesn’t have to go away to achieve his goals.

Nor will he make any progress in terms of football, like Suarez back then. Liverpool should therefore not accept that this is inevitable. Of course, a lot will depend on how Mo himself feels. If the Reds try to challenge himself again this season, maybe he’ll carry the virus. Anyway, I hope.
