Tottenham Hotspur are all set to push for the services of 23-year-old Chelsea graduate Conor Gallagher in January.

Conor Gallagher is still a target for Tottenham Hotspur, who intends to make a strong bid for his services during the winter transfer window, according to a report by Football Insider.

Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, a lot has changed at Tottenham. The biggest change was the departure of their record goal scorer Harry Kane. Despite the departure of the England international, the North London club are doing quite well in the new season under the Australian boss.

They added quite a few quality players to their ranks in the summer, and those transfers have started to have an impact on the overall performance of the team. While they did manage to sign the majority of the players they wanted, Spurs could not get their hands on Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Tottenham attempted to sign him on deadline day in order to add another midfielder to their roster before the transfer window closed. The Blues, though, stopped the manoeuvre.

Despite failing in the summer, Spurs still retain their interest in the 23-year-old Chelsea graduate. Tottenham do not have enough depth in the centre of the park and with Rodrigo Bentancur still out injured, the lack of depth is quite clear.

As a result, Tottenham are looking to return to the services of Gallagher in the winter. They will go hard and try to land him at the club. Meanwhile, Chelsea might be open to the idea of letting him leave.

The international for England rose through the club’s ranks to join their first team last summer. The 23-year-old has improved steadily over the previous 18 months, and under Mauricio Pochettino, he is currently a key player.

But if they get the proper amount for his services, they might still wind up selling him in the winter. Thanks to their summer purchases, the Blues have adequate depth in the centre of the pitch. In the recently ended window, they added Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu to their ranks.
