After a hot start to the 2023 NFL season in which the Washington Commanders were able to beat the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos in consecutive weeks, things haven’t gone as planned for the storied franchise, as the team has secured only one win since then.

At 3-3, the Commanders’ playoff hopes are still very much alive, but it’s safe to say it will still be a difficult task for this team to be postseason-bound with a lot of tough games left on the schedule moving forward.

With Washington potentially not expected to win a lot more games this season, the team could be looking at moving off some players ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, an AFC executive believes the Commanders could be open to moving defensive ends Chase Young and Montez Sweat, via Dov Kleiman.

There will definitely be some interest in these defensive ends if they do indeed become available on the trade market ahead of the deadline on Halloween, as these players could instantly make an impact on title-contending teams this season.

However, it remains to be seen how serious the Commanders are about potentially moving one or both of these players, as they could receive some intriguing trade offers in the weeks ahead.

It will be an interesting storyline for Washington moving forward, as this report alone might be enough for teams to start calling the Commanders with trade offers with the deadline less than two weeks away.
