Liverpool could replace Mohamed Salah with Jarrod Bowen, with Saudi links persisting

Liverpool are chasing West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen as their replacement for Mohamed Salah.

That’s according to a transfer prophet who claims Salah’s relationship with the Saudi Pro League is going nowhere as the Egyptian king’s contract enters its final year next season. The Retds are said to have rejected offers worth £200m in the summer.

But with Salah now 31 and Jurgen Klopp bringing the average age of Liverpool’s squad back up, the winger could be on the verge of being dropped, with several names being mooted as his replacement.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen is being considered for Merseyside.

“I think we will see more wingers heading towards Liverpool because of the Mo Salah situation. We hope the Saudis will come back for Salah in 2024,” Romano said in the latest episode of CaughtOffside’s The Debrief podcast.

“At the moment, it’s not something concrete yet. Nothing happened, but I still think in 2024 they will try again and it will be normal to see a lot of links. Jarrod Bowen is one of them.

Bowen scored the winning goal for the Hammers as they lifted the Europa Conference League trophy last season and has enjoyed clear success since arriving from Hull City in January 2020.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in Federico Chiesa.

Bowen is valued by Transfermarkt at 38 million euros.
