Jonathan Gannon – the Cardinals’ new head coach – is off to a rocky start in Arizona after a video of himself trying to inspire his players went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.

The 40-year-old, who’s about to embark on his first year as a head coach of an NFL team, attempted to fire up his squad in a team meeting in which he asks his players if they have ‘fire in your gut’ in footage from the show ‘Cardinals Fight Plan.’

Gannon then claimed that he’s ‘looking for f***ing killers,’ except that he gave his pep talk in the flattest voice possible.

And, of course, the internet didn’t miss out on an opportunity to troll the Ohio native.

Those dudes look bored,’ said an NFL fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, referring to some of the players’ stoic facial expressions in reaction to what was supposed to be a rallying cry from Gannon.

And the crowd went mild,’ added another user.

‘The Cardinals really might not ever win anything every again,’ said a different individual.

‘It’s going to be a long wasted season for Cardinals fans but a bright future waits at the end,’ shared an X account known as NFL Notifications.

‘Yeah this guy is as inspiring as a plastic bag,’ wrote an NFL fan. ‘Or whatever you can think is the most benign thing on the planet.’

‘Wow what a snooze fest of a coach,’ pointed out another.

‘This is why the Cardinals are going 0-17!,’ said a different user.

‘That dude is literally Michael Scott,’ an individual shared, referring to the US version of the TV show ‘The Office.’

It’s fair to say that Gannon will have to show more passion if he wants to improve the Cardinals this upcoming season after the team ended with a 4-13 record last year.
