Richarlison has fired a brutal message to Jurgen Klopp after the pair were involved in a touchline incident during Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Liverpool. A dramatic winner for Spurs deep into added time was overshadowed by a significant amount of VAR controversy and red cards to Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The first sending off came in the opening 45 minutes when Jones caught Yves Bissouma high on the leg with his studs up. A yellow card was initially given by Simon Hooper but VAR intervened and recommended an on pitch review which saw the card upgraded to a red.

This match-changing incident came just minutes after Luis Diaz had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside with the PGMOL admitting a significant human error was made. Jota, who came on for Cody Gakpo at half time, was then shown two yellow cards in quick succession for fouls on Destiny Udogie which saw Liverpool go down to nine men.

Ange Postecoglou’s side pushed for the winning goal but Liverpool held firm until their resolve was finally broken deep into added time when Pedro Porro’s cross was turned into his own net by Joel Matip. With so many incidents taking place, a war of words between Klopp and Richarlison in the first half was completely overlooked despite Postecoglou also getting involved in the exchange.

With the Lilywhites picking up all three points, the Brazil international, who set up Son Heung-min’s first half goal, has responded to the altercation on TikTok. With a video of the incident, that came about after Richarlison went in strong on Mohamed Salah near Klopp, the 26-year-old has layered a song by The Beatnuts and Method Man called Se Acabo, a track regularly used alongside memes, with the caption of a singular hands crossed over face emoji.

Richarlison has a rich history with Liverpool and Klopp given his Everton roots and a very late goal scored at Anfield last season that looked to have secured Spurs a point, only for Jota to score a winner seconds later. Postecoglou chose to bring Richarlison back into his starting XI in place of Brennan Johnson who picked up an injury in the North London Derby.
