NEW DELHI: The San Francisco 49ers faced a double blow as wide receiver Deebo Samuel and running back Christian McCaffrey were ruled out of the game after sustaining injuries during a 19-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Christian McCaffrey, who was leading the NFLin rushing yards entering Week 6, suffered an oblique injury and was initially listed as questionable to return in the fourth quarter.

However, he was eventually ruled out.
Deebo Samuel, the dynamic wide receiver, had his game cut short. He played in the 49ers’ first two series, but an injury forced him into the medical tent. Before his departure, Samuel was targeted once but did not make a catch, and he contributed 11 rushing yards on a couple of carries. It’s worth noting that X-rays on his shoulder came back negative, and he is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam.

Before exiting the game, Christian McCaffrey had a notable performance, catching a touchdown pass in the first half and carrying the ball 11 times for 43 yards while also adding three receptions for 9 yards. He had entered Week 6 as the NFL’s leading rusher with 510 yards on the ground.
Deebo Samuel, 27, was having a strong season before the injury, with 20 receptions for 302 yards and a touchdown in the first five games, and he also contributed 84 rushing yards with a touchdown.
