Leeds United could be without winger Jaidon Anthony this afternoon against Bristol City after he rolled his ankle during the week in the win over QPR.

Having made his first start of the season in Leeds colours on Wednesday night, it was an impressive outing for the winger despite little coming in the way of clear-cut chances or chance creation for him.

However, Daniel Farke confirmed in his pre-match press conference today that the winger rolled his ankle and is now “50/50” for the match, pending further assessment before tomorrow’s clash:

How does Farke change the setup?

Such an issue could see Anthony rested, knowing that we are fortunately blessed with enough depth to still have Championship-quality wingers starting even while Anthony and Willy Gnonto are out.

It means that Dan James is sure to come in if Anthony cannot make the starting lineup, while a change in role for Crysencio Summerville should be on the cards.

Putting James on the right wing where his right foot is much more dangerous by throwing in out-swinging crosses could be a good avenue for Leeds, meaning Crysencio Summerville’s trickery and playmaking can move to the left where he can cut inside or race to the by-line.

Full-back support is key for both though, and perhaps a switch for left and right-back roles is needed too, with the right-back (Luke Ayling most likely) inverting, ensuring he’s not caught out on the wing too, allowing Sam Byram on the left to overlap Summerville and create overloads.
