Jordan Travis suffered what appears to be a broken left leg or ankle. The Florida State star quarterback suffered the injury while running near midfield against North Alabama as he was tackled from behind and dragged down with his leg rolling under the weight of the defender.

His left foot was facing a different direction than the rest of his body as Travis immediately called for help while on the field.

A medical cart was called out to midfield to take Travis off the field. Players were emotional and distraught at their leader and friend suffering the grotesque injury. Trey Benson was sobbing, Players took a knee, and the stadium – aside from a brief chant of ‘Jordan Travis’ – was eerily silent.

FSU’s entire bench, as well as UNA’s went to midfield to surround Travis. The stadium then started chatting his name again.

FSU was trailing the FCS opponent 13-0 with 1:43 remaining in the first quarter.

Coach Mike Norvell, in a sideline interview with the CW entering half time, said he did not have specifics on the injury.
“Obviously our thoughts are with Jordan right now with him going down, but I was proud of our guys,” Norvell said. “Fought back, got the lead. Now get to go in the second half, play 30 minutes of clean Seminole football.

“I don’t have any updates. Obviously it didn’t look good. We’ll see where it is.”

It is Senior Day, in a cruel twist of fate on a day meant to commemorate the career of FSU’s seniors such as Travis.

Travis will go down as one of the top quarterbacks in FSU’s history and the face of the program’s ascent back to the top of the college football ranks after a fall from grace. Eminently  likable, electric as a runner, humble and a hard worker who constantly improved as a passer over his career, Travis rightfully earned Heisman buzz entering this season and guided the Seminoles into the Top 10 of various rankings through his senior season.
