Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes almost always finds a way to play, as the Buffalo Bills know all too well. So we will assume there should be little doubt about his ability to play – and likely play quite well – on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. But the perennial MVP and Super Bowl candidate does appear on the Chiefs injury report on Wednesday. … and as we’re pretty sure Kansas City is monitoring this closely, so should Buffalo. Mahomes, it seems, has a pectoral injury … and maybe some of the Chiefs’ (relative) struggles are a result of that.

The Chiefs are coming off a surprising loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday and right now they sit one game behind the Baltimore Ravens for the top seed in the AFC. … with the Bills giving chase. Kickoff for Sunday’s game will be at 4:25 p.m. ET and it will be nationally televised by CBS. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be in the booth. Taylor Swift will probably be in a suite. And as usually, Patrick Mahomes will surely be centerstage, injury or not, on the field.

But … he is battling through it, as he was nevertheless a full participant in practice. And he’s battled through a season, too, in which K.C. has posted an 8-4 record (to the Bills’ 6-6 mark) while the quarterback has put up numbers, completing 67.8 percent of his passes for 3,127 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
