Portis himself is not a stranger to scoring in bunches. In fact, over his last three games, the 6-foot-10 big man is averaging 21.7 points on 63.4 percent shooting, which includes a season-high 31-point eruption against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. This pales in comparison, however, to how Dame has put up 37.3 points on a 57.1-percent shooting clip in his last three appearances.

On Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs, Lillard recorded his most points in a Bucks uniform by dropping 40 to lead Milwaukee to a 132-119 win. It’s safe to say that Dame left quite an impression on Portis: “He scores 40 and it be like a regular night, like it’s a regular thing,” Portis said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “He makes it look easy. Hell of a play. Happy he’s my teammate.”

Portis hit the nail on the head here. It’s as if the basketball world is no longer surprised whenever Lillard decides to score 40 points. As Portis said, it’s become somewhat of a regular thing for the seven-time All-NBA point guard.

This simply speaks volumes of Lillard’s unbridled scoring prowess. The good news for Bucks fans is that there’s a lot more where that came from.

The Bucks went unbeaten on their season-long, six-game homestand and have won 15 straight games at Fiserv Forum. That’s the Bucks’ longest single-season home win streak since 1991-92, when they won their first 18 at home. Damian Lillard had 24 points on 5-for-17 shooting and eight assists for Milwaukee. Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez scored 14 points each.
